After more than six years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle vacated their residence at the Windsor estate, Frogmore Cottage is set to undergo another round of renovations. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially converted the property, a wedding gift from the late Queen, into a single unit by merging several houses at a cost of £2.4 million.

The extensive transformation for the Sussexes, which included the addition of a yoga studio, replacement of ceiling beams and floor joists, electrical rewiring, and installation of new gas and water connections, took nearly a year to complete.

Recent reports suggest that the renovations will be reversed, reverting Frogmore Cottage back to multiple dwellings. The decision is seen as a means to restore the property to its pre-Harry and Meghan state and mark a new chapter in its history.

While some speculate that undoing the renovations signals the end of Harry and Meghan’s ties to the UK, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond offers a different perspective. She suggests that the move may be driven by commercial considerations, as the Crown Estate aims to maximize profitability.

Jennie emphasizes that Frogmore Cottage no longer holds sentimental value for the couple, especially after the controversial repayment of the renovation costs.
