Following her death, various gifts given to her by George Michael are now up for sale. In 2019, she was one of the beneficiaries of his £98 million estate after his passing in 2016.
Kay’s daughter recently auctioned off the presents her mother received from the famous singer, including a pair of Cutler and Gross sunglasses. The sunglasses were sold for a substantial £5,700. Other valuable items auctioned included his engraved Faith tour belt buckle, fetching £700, a Cartier watch sold for £1,900, and a Bulgari 18ct gold ladies watch which was auctioned for £1,200.
Kay, believed to be in her 60s at the time of her passing, was fondly remembered by her daughter who paid tribute to George Michael, describing him as “kind” in a letter to Omega Auctions. George had a close relationship with Kay’s family, even acting as the godfather to her daughter in 1999 and hosting her parents’ wedding on Necker Island.
Kay, a highly sought-after model in her prime, associated with top models like Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Cindy Crawford. Her friendship with these supermodels led George Michael to feature them in his music video for Freedom in 1990.
