A woman who was incarcerated alongside convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has revealed details about Maxwell’s conduct in the all-female prison where she is serving a 20-year sentence. Maxwell, the former British socialite and girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, is currently imprisoned in the United States for child sex trafficking and other related charges. According to an unnamed source who shared a cell with Maxwell at FCI Tallahassee in Florida from 2023 to 2025, Maxwell had poor personal hygiene habits, including infrequent showers. The source mentioned that Maxwell was often isolated by other inmates who referred to her using prison slang for child molester.
Despite Maxwell’s criminal history, there have been no reported physical altercations with her in prison, as other inmates feared repercussions. The source explained that attacking Maxwell could lead to disciplinary measures such as isolation in a restricted unit known as “the hole,” where inmates receive minimal privileges. Maxwell was later transferred from the Florida facility to Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas, a more relaxed institution primarily for non-violent offenders, following meetings with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche regarding her offenses and association with Epstein.
Reports suggest that Maxwell is receiving preferential treatment at Camp Bryan, including special meals, private visitation areas, and extra amenities. Additionally, she allegedly has privileges such as after-hours workouts and late-night showers. Visitors are permitted to bring laptops for Maxwell, who reportedly uses them to communicate with friends via email. Despite criticisms of the favorable conditions at her new prison, Maxwell’s attorney emphasized that the transfer was for her safety, highlighting the challenging nature of prison life. Maxwell expressed contentment with her new environment, describing it as well-organized and secure compared to her previous detention facility.
