Gordon Ramsay’s recent property acquisition in Cornwall has received support from Amanda Holden, as per a report by The Mail Online. The renowned chef and his wife, Tana, have purchased a 19th-century four-bedroom home for around £9.65 million, located just a few meters from their existing beachfront property in Rock, which they had bought for £4.4 million in 2015 and subsequently reconstructed.

During the renovation of their Rock property, Gordon reportedly faced opposition from more than 20 neighbors who raised concerns about his development plans. He also drew criticism for visiting the area during the Covid lockdown.

According to sources, Ramsay’s latest purchase is expected to spark further controversy as a significant redevelopment is planned for his two-acre land. This comes after the 59-year-old chef previously expressed his dislike for local residents, which had led to negative feedback from the community.

Discussing the matter on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show, showbiz correspondent Ashley Roberts highlighted Ramsay’s affinity for the area’s swimming spots and scenic coastlines, juxtaposed with his apparent discord with the Cornish populace. Amanda Holden humorously questioned Ramsay’s sentiments towards the locals, suggesting that his real estate investments indicate a fondness for the region despite any perceived animosity.

In past interviews, Ramsay has shared mixed feelings about Cornwall. While praising the area’s beauty and activities like surfing and swimming, he has also made comments indicating a strained relationship with the Cornish people. However, he has acknowledged the expenses involved in maintaining properties in the region, particularly referencing the high costs of gardening services.

Notably, Ramsay’s investments in Cornwall have been viewed as long-term commitments, with the chef humorously acknowledging the financial benefits reaped by local tradespeople. He expressed hope that his ventures in the region would yield returns over the years, all in good humor.
