Police in Guildford have initiated a homicide inquiry following the discovery of a young boy who was fatally stabbed. The incident occurred in a wooded area near Lido Road in Stoke Park at 6:10 pm yesterday. Despite prompt intervention by emergency responders and bystanders, the teenager succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have notified the victim’s family.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Fire & Rescue Service also responded to the incident. The investigation, led by the Major Crime Team of Surrey and Sussex Police, is currently ongoing with no arrests made thus far.

Detective Superintendent Andy Jenkins, the Senior Investigating Officer, expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones and emphasized the investigative efforts being undertaken to unravel the circumstances of the tragedy. Jenkins urged anyone with pertinent information regarding the events in the vicinity of Lido Road, Parkway, and Stoke Park between 6:00 pm and 6:20 pm on January 19 to come forward, emphasizing the significance of even the smallest details.

A police cordon has been established around the wooded area known as Peacock Wood and Wild Wood Adventure, as well as at the end of the car park on Lido Road. While access to certain areas like the bowls clubs, Guilden Village student accommodation, and Stoke Park remains available, a heightened police presence will be maintained in the vicinity. The A25 (Parkway) is unaffected by these measures.
