In the UK, thieves have committed a notable crime by stealing a significant quantity of Guinness beer. British authorities are actively working to recover 70,000 pints of the stolen Guinness, which is valued at around 115,000 pounds ($216,000 Cdn). The theft occurred at a depot near Liverpool in northwest England, where two trailer truckloads of the renowned dark beer were taken.

Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy emphasized the importance of recovering the stolen items, stating that while Guinness may be good for you, it must be acquired through legitimate means. The stolen Guinness, intended for pubs, was seized by two drivers who removed about 800 barrels of stout from an industrial park in Runcorn on Monday night. The trailers holding the beer were estimated to be worth 50,000 pounds ($93,000).

This incident follows a recent beer theft in the United States that gained attention due to the brewery’s humorous social media responses. In that case, approximately 34,000 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon were stolen from a Southern California warehouse, with a value of $70,000 US ($97,000 Cdn). The company offered a $20,000 US reward for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen beer.

In response to the theft, the Pabst company issued a statement on social media, expressing their disappointment in the thief’s actions and urging them to acquire the beer through legitimate means.
