Three individuals lost their lives in a collision involving three vehicles on Keighley Road in Illingworth, Halifax. The casualties included a 21-year-old man and two men aged 22 who were pronounced dead at the crash site following the incident at 6.50pm on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police disclosed that the fatal victims were all occupants of a Ford Fiesta which collided with a BMW and a stationary Renault Clio at the junction of Cobblestones Drive. Another 21-year-old male from the Ford Fiesta was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, as reported by YorkshireLive.

Authorities arrested a 37-year-old man, along with two women aged 18 and 32, all from Halifax and traveling in the BMW, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They are currently in police custody. The road where the accident occurred remains closed.

Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler of the Major Collision Enquiry Team expressed condolences to the families and friends of the deceased individuals, emphasizing the tragic nature of the incident. Specialized officers are providing support to the affected families, while comprehensive investigations are ongoing at the scene.

Law enforcement officials issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward, especially those who were in the area at the time of the collision. They are also requesting any dash-cam footage capturing the vehicles before the accident for further analysis.
