Nick Pasqual, known for his role in the TV series “How I Met Your Mother,” has been given a sentence of 32 years to life in prison for attacking his estranged girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn. The incident occurred in May 2024 when Pasqual unlawfully entered Shehorn’s residence in California and proceeded to stab her more than 20 times.
After the attack, Pasqual attempted to flee to Mexico but was apprehended at a US Border Patrol checkpoint in Texas. The 36-year-old actor was found guilty of attempted murder, rape, burglary, and domestic violence charges and received his sentencing on June 2, with 32 years to life imprisonment.
Shehorn, a makeup artist who has worked on various productions, including Babylon, Mean Girls, and Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, had obtained a restraining order against Pasqual due to their reportedly abusive relationship.
During the trial, Shehorn recounted the harrowing experience in court, describing how she tried to escape by locking herself in a bathroom as Pasqual violently broke through the door. She sustained visible scars from the stab wounds on her neck.
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to assist Shehorn with medical expenses, as she required breathing and feeding tubes while recovering in the hospital.
District Attorney Nathan Hochman remarked in court that the 32-year to life sentence served as accountability for Pasqual’s appalling actions against someone who had once trusted him. Shehorn’s courageous testimony played a crucial role in securing a guilty verdict against Pasqual.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Pasqual expressed his remorse for the situation, emphasizing his commitment to sobriety, recovery, accountability, and respect for the legal process.
Pasqual’s television credits include appearances in various shows and films, including a season 7 episode of How I Met Your Mother, the Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs,” and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire.
