A video capturing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers detaining two individuals at San Francisco International Airport has caused concern amid efforts to alleviate issues at TSA security checkpoints. The footage shows agents detaining a woman who is visibly distressed and handcuffed, while her tearful daughter watches on. The woman vocalizes her discontent, calling the situation “un-American.”

Another person filming the incident questions the officers’ identities as the woman is taken into custody. The Department of Homeland Security accused the woman of resisting arrest, but it was unclear if the plain-clothed men were ICE officers as they lacked visible identification.

The identities of the woman and child in the video remain undisclosed. The federal agents struggled to lift the handcuffed woman off the floor during the incident. ICE agents were deployed to assist with security screenings at airports in various cities, excluding SFO, which uses contract workers for TSA security.

DHS revealed that the detained individuals in San Francisco had a prior deportation order and efforts were being made to repatriate them to Guatemala. An airport spokesperson described the arrests as an isolated event with no indication of broader enforcement actions at SFO, ensuring normal operations continued without disruptions.

President Trump affirmed ICE’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws at airports and suggested potential National Guard involvement. White House Border Czar Tom Homan emphasized that ICE agents would not turn a blind eye to illegal activities while assisting TSA personnel, prioritizing security and efficient passenger processing.
