Sam Thompson, the winner of the reality show “I’m A Celeb,” recently shared his experience with Tinnitus, a condition characterized by a persistent ringing, hissing, or buzzing sound in the ear. The 33-year-old star disclosed that he was diagnosed with the condition, which has affected other celebrities like Barbara Streisand, Sylvester Stallone, and Chris Martin.
Speaking on Fearne Cotton’s podcast Happy Place, Sam described Tinnitus as “savage,” emphasizing the challenges of dealing with the constant ringing, especially when trying to sleep. Despite seeking medical help, he was told that there was no definitive solution for the condition.
Sam, who was crowned Jungle King in 2023, also revealed that his Tinnitus worsens during periods of anxiety and panic attacks, noting that the condition feels like a “drill in your ear” at night. Known for his openness about his health struggles, Sam previously disclosed his ADHD diagnosis in 2023 and later revealed that he is autistic.
Acknowledging the importance of mental health awareness, Sam highlighted the value of therapy and support from friends and family members. He credited his close friends, Pete Wicks and James Dunmore, as pillars of support during challenging times, emphasizing the significance of open communication and seeking help when needed.
