He revealed that the tribute is dedicated to his cousin, Harley McNulty, who sadly passed away at the young age of 19 earlier this month. The 24-year-old is scheduled to participate in the Match for Hope 2026 event at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Qatar. This charity football match brings together online influencers and football icons to raise funds for educational and charitable causes, including the Education Above All Foundation.

In an Instagram post today, Angry Ginge shared, “Good morning everyone, it’s match day. I’m excited and just wanted to address something about tonight. I want to clarify now why I’ll be wearing a black armband, as is customary in football when you’ve lost someone.” He went on to explain the significance behind his gesture in memory of his cousin Harley.

Additionally, a GoFundMe page has been set up by Chanel Dillion, a close friend of Harley’s mother, to assist the family with funeral expenses. Describing Harley as the heart and soul of gatherings, the fundraiser has already raised over £16,000.
