An influencer and her attorney father have been taken into custody for allegedly orchestrating a plan to engage a dark web assassin to eliminate her former boyfriend, a member of a popular boy band.
Gabriela Gonzalez, a prominent figure on TikTok known for her lifestyle and travel content, along with her dad Francisco, are facing accusations from Los Angeles prosecutors regarding a conspiracy to arrange the murder of her ex-partner, Jack Avery, with whom she shares a seven-year-old daughter.
Jack Avery, a former member of the music group Why Don’t We, has been entangled in a custody and visitation dispute with Gabriela, in which her father has reportedly played a significant role.
Prosecutors claim that between 2020 and 2021, Gabriela solicited her then-boyfriend, Kai Cordrey, to assist her in finding a hitman via the dark web to carry out the crime. It is alleged that Francisco Gonzalez made payments totaling $14,000 to aid in the scheme.
Further investigations revealed that Cordrey initiated communication with an undercover law enforcement agent posing as a hitman, discussing details of the plot and implicating Gabriela and her father in the arrangement.
Both Gabriela and Francisco have been arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, solicitation of murder, and attempted murder-for-hire. They, along with Cordrey, are facing severe legal consequences, including a potential maximum sentence of 25 years to life if found guilty.
In response to the developments, Jack Avery has sought a restraining order against Gabriela following her arrest.
