A woman who gained popularity on social media revealed her skin cancer journey after years of sunbed use without sun cream during her teenage years. Anna Papalia, now 48, discovered a small spot on her nose five years ago, initially dismissed as a harmless cyst by a dermatologist. However, upon further inspection by an aesthetician, a small mass behind the spot raised concerns.

Despite being reassured by the first dermatologist that it was nothing to worry about, Anna eventually opted for removal due to irritation. A subsequent biopsy revealed basal-cell carcinoma, leading to a surgical procedure that involved significant cuts and 60 stitches across her cheek.
