A mother tragically passed away at a doctor’s office after experiencing a prolonged wait for an appointment, as revealed in an inquest. Jaqueline Watkins, aged 66, had been feeling unwell for days and reached out to her GP for medical attention. Despite being granted an appointment later that week, she collapsed while seated in the waiting area at Llanyravon Surgery in South Wales.

Medical personnel at the clinic attempted to revive Ms. Watkins, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead on the premises. Her family, concerned about potential lapses in the care provided, emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances. Following a post-mortem examination that did not yield a conclusive cause of death, the family expressed their lingering uncertainties regarding the advice and treatment received.

The coroner for Gwent, Rose Farmer, announced that an official inquest is scheduled for March of the upcoming year to delve deeper into the incident. Described as a “lovely lady” in an online tribute, Ms. Watkins was remembered fondly by her loved ones, including her partner of 26 years, Keith Berry, and a grieving family devastated by the sudden loss.

The inquest proceedings were adjourned to allow for further inquiries to be conducted.
