An inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the passing of boxing icon Ricky Hatton is scheduled for today.

The former world champion was found at his residence in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on September 14 last year. He was 46 years old. His longtime manager and close friend, Paul Speak, discovered him unresponsive at the property.

During a prior hearing, it was mentioned that Hatton was last seen alive by family members on September 12 and had seemed to be in good health. He missed an event the next day, and on the morning of September 14, Mr. Speak visited the house to pick him up for a trip to Manchester Airport.

Reports indicate that the late boxing legend Ricky Hatton left a substantial legacy of £40 million to his three children, having established a significant property portfolio before his demise. Prior to his passing, the former world champion ensured his family’s financial security by channeling his career earnings into various business endeavors.

Survived by his children Campbell, 24, Millie, 13, and Fearne, 12, Hatton’s fight purses were instrumental in supporting a range of astute investments, including freehold and leasehold flats, housing developments, and properties in Hyde, Greater Manchester, as well as in locations like Leicestershire, London, and Kent.

Family members noted that Ricky Hatton appeared to be in good spirits when they last saw him days before his untimely death.

His manager and longtime companion, Paul Speak, discovered the former champion unresponsive at his residence in Gee Cross, Hyde, on the day they were to travel to Manchester Airport for a flight to Dubai.

The inquiry revealed that Hatton had been last seen by relatives two days before, appearing upbeat, before returning home. Subsequently, he failed to attend a scheduled engagement the following day.

Paying tribute to his father, Campbell Hatton expressed profound sorrow, highlighting their strong bond and the cherished memories they shared.

Ricky Hatton, known as a British professional boxer and former world champion, was renowned for his aggressive body punching and relentless style in the ring. Hailing from Hyde, Greater Manchester, he held multiple titles at light-welterweight and welterweight, including championships under the WBA, IBF, and IBO.

Hatton gained immense popularity in the UK, notably facing formidable opponents such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao during his illustrious career.

An inquest into the demise of former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton is slated for Friday.

A preliminary cause of death was disclosed during a pre-inquest session when basic details about the 46-year-old’s passing were revealed.

Hatton was seen last by his family on September 12, appearing in good health, as detailed by Stockport Coroner’s Court. On the morning of Sunday, the 14th, his manager, Paul Speak, arrived at his Hyde residence to escort him to Manchester Airport for a flight to Dubai, only to find Hatton unresponsive.
