Iran has launched multiple missile attacks on neighboring countries in retaliation for recent joint US-Israeli strikes. Despite the death of Ayatollah Al Khamenei, the country has displayed significant military strength.
Targets of the attacks include Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Israel, and Dubai in the UAE, with reports of luxury hotels engulfed in flames. The US military bases in the affected regions are believed to have been primary targets.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) base in Cyprus was also attacked, resulting in the confirmed deaths of three US military personnel. Concerns are mounting over the escalating conflict and the potential for Iran’s missiles to reach further regions, including popular British holiday destinations like Egypt and Turkey.
While Egypt and Turkey have not yet been targeted, both countries house US military bases, such as the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. The attacks have continued into the current day, prompting the UK Ministry of Defence to relocate families following an alleged Iranian drone strike on RAF Akrotiri.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged the 200,000 British citizens in the region to register their presence and adhere to travel advice due to the dangerous situation unfolding in Iran. He emphasized the need for caution and reassured support for those affected by the crisis.
