Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former US President Donald Trump, was reportedly targeted by an alleged terrorist believed to be connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The 32-year-old suspect, Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, is said to have acquired detailed plans of Ivanka Trump’s residence in Florida.
Al-Saadi allegedly expressed intentions to seek revenge for the death of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad in 2020. According to reports, Al-Saadi vowed to assassinate Ivanka Trump as payback for the incident. An ex-military official at the Iraqi embassy in Washington, Entifadh Qanbar, disclosed that Al-Saadi had openly discussed his plans to target Ivanka Trump in retaliation for the loss of Soleimani.
In a social media post featuring a photo of Ivanka Trump’s private island where she resides with her husband Jared Kushner, Al-Saadi warned the Americans that no security measures, including the Secret Service, could shield them from harm. He indicated that they were monitoring the situation closely and that retribution was inevitable.
Al-Saadi was apprehended in Turkey on May 15 and subsequently extradited to the US to face charges related to 18 attacks and attempted attacks in Europe and the US. The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has accused him of orchestrating assaults on American and Jewish targets, including incidents in Amsterdam, London, and Toronto.
Furthermore, the DoJ contends that Al-Saadi was involved in planning and executing attacks against Jewish communities in Europe, such as bombings and arson incidents in Belgium and the Netherlands. The New York Post also reported that Al-Saadi was carrying an Iraqi service passport at the time of his arrest, alleging potential state involvement in his activities.
Al-Saadi, who had close ties to the late Iranian general Soleimani, was on his way to Russia when apprehended. He is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, facing serious charges related to his alleged terrorist activities.
