Jane McDonald, a talented singer, has been keeping busy with various projects lately. She hosted a travel series on Channel 5 called “From Pole to Pole” and filmed a documentary at Blackbird Studio in Nashville for her new album, “Living The Dream.” Additionally, she is gearing up for an arena tour starting in August.
However, Jane has faced challenges in recent years, particularly after the passing of her fiancé, Eddie Rothe, due to lung cancer in 2021. She mourned his loss in a low-key funeral under pandemic restrictions, which prevented many from attending. Jane revealed that she listens to voicemails from Eddie and wears his sweater to feel connected to him.
In a recent interview with Woman magazine, Jane shared how Eddie’s death inspired some of the songs on her latest album. She expressed her emotional journey through music, reflecting on their relationship and the pain of loss. Jane and Eddie first dated in the 1980s before reuniting in 2008 on the show “Loose Women.” They were engaged for 12 years before his untimely death.
Earlier this year, Jane made the tough decision to sell her home in Wakefield, Cleevethorpe House, despite her efforts in renovating it. She now resides in a smaller property in the same area, seeking a fresh start and peace in her life.
Living with her close friend Sue Ravey, whom she met in her twenties, Jane shared the process of decluttering her belongings and moving on from the past. She also opened up about her previous marriage to Henrik Brixen, admitting that she was never in love with him. Their five-year marriage ended in 2003, with Henrik being both her husband and manager during that time.
Reflecting on her career and personal life, Jane highlighted the challenges she faced in the music industry and the lessons she learned along the way. Despite the ups and downs, she emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-reliance in navigating her journey.
