Jesy Nelson recently delighted fans by sharing a heartwarming video of her baby daughter, who is currently facing health challenges. The Little Mix singer posted the adorable clip on her Instagram account, showcasing her little one receiving cuddles and kisses from Jesy’s mother with a big smile and giggles.
In the background, Jesy could be heard laughing joyfully and expressing her delight at the sweet moment. Another clip showed Jesy playfully revealing her child’s growing mullet hairstyle while affectionately joking about it.
Jesy openly discussed her twins’ health condition and initiated a petition to include SMA screenings in newborn blood tests, garnering over 100,000 signatures in a short time.
Her twin daughters were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 after being born prematurely in May 2025 due to complications from twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS). The diagnosis was made following concerns raised by Jesy’s mother about the twins’ limited movements.
SMA is a genetic disorder affecting motor neurons, leading to progressive muscle weakness and atrophy. It can impact a child’s ability to perform basic motor functions like sitting, crawling, and walking, as well as cause respiratory and swallowing difficulties. Jesy’s twins underwent a gene therapy infusion aimed at preserving their remaining muscle function.
Despite the challenges, Jesy continues to share her motherhood journey on social media, providing updates on her children, including a documentary detailing her pregnancy experience.
