A man of Jewish descent was hospitalized with injuries to his facial and back areas following an alleged assault by five individuals wearing masks.

The incident occurred on The Grove in Golders Green, North London, around 2 am on Monday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The victim, a 22-year-old Jewish male, was swiftly taken to the hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises on his body and face.

The Metropolitan Police have declared the incident as an antisemitic hate crime but noted that no arrests have been made yet. The victim was reportedly pursued and attacked by the group of five masked assailants.

Shomrim, a volunteer civilian patrol group within the Jewish community, expressed deep shock and concern over the assault. They emphasized the alarming trend of rising antisemitic incidents and attacks and condemned any form of hatred or violence targeting the Jewish community.

Law enforcement confirmed the assault as a racially and religiously motivated offense, under the purview of the Hate Crime Unit. Shomrim has been actively cooperating with the police, providing CCTV footage related to the incident for investigation purposes, as reported by The Sun.

To provide support and reassurance, additional patrols have been deployed in the area by Shomrim to safeguard the community.

According to a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, the assault on the Jewish man was reported in the early hours of Monday, with the victim sustaining injuries to his face and back. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the police.

This attack follows a series of violent incidents in the Golders Green Jewish neighborhood, including the recent arrest of Essa Suleiman on charges of attempted murder.
