A prominent UK engineering company that collaborated with Jaguar Land Rover, Subaru, and Nissan has entered administration. JRM Advanced Engineering, specialized in engineering and manufacturing, is currently seeking a buyer following its recent administration filing on February 12, as reported on February 18.
The company, based in Northamptonshire, operates in the motorsport, aerospace, and marine sectors, focusing on advanced chassis development and innovative suspension solutions. Gary Pettit from PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency has been appointed to oversee the administration process.
The impact on staff members and the possibility of redundancies resulting from the administration remains uncertain. Formerly a Tier 1 supplier, the company had secured contracts with renowned automotive and performance brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Arctic Trucks, Subaru, and Nissan Nismo.
Currently, operations are on hold while the administrator assesses the company’s financial status and potential recovery options. Several interested parties have already shown interest in acquiring the business.
The administrator’s goal is to finalize a sale that would enable the resumption of trading and safeguard jobs, pending due diligence and agreement on commercial terms. Additionally, the company specializes in advanced powertrain construction, including projects involving hydrogen fuel cell technology, with its engineers contributing to the development of a new battery-electric sports car.
JRM Advanced Engineering previously provided engineering services for Caterham’s Project V electric vehicle, delivering a comprehensive engineering package and layout concept. This included innovative concepts for front and rear axles, featuring lightweight double-wishbone suspension with adjustable toe and camber settings.
