Essex Police have announced the discovery of a laptop during the search for missing psychologist Vitoria Figueiredo Barreto, who was reported missing eleven days ago. The 30-year-old Brazilian was reported missing on March 4 by a friend she was last seen with at Essex University on March 3.
Vitoria took a bus journey from Wivenhoe to Brightlingsea on March 3. CCTV footage later captured a person believed to be Vitoria jumping over a fence into a boatyard just after midnight on March 4.
Authorities have conducted extensive searches for Vitoria, who was last seen wearing a dark coat, blue turtleneck jumper, light blue jeans, and black trainers. Essex Police have expanded their search area to Bradwell-on-Sea, near where a boat believed to be linked to Vitoria was found.
A laptop believed to belong to Vitoria was found in Brightlingsea on March 14. There have been reported sightings of Vitoria in the Bradwell area. The police have been actively investigating these leads and are exploring various lines of inquiry.
Detective Superintendent Anna Granger expressed the hope of reuniting Vitoria with her family and acknowledged the community support in the search efforts. Efforts are ongoing to locate Vitoria, and the public is urged to report any sightings or relevant information to the authorities promptly.
