A fire broke out at a residence in London, leading to the deployment of eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters to combat the blaze.
The incident occurred at a mid-terraced house in Knollmead, Tolworth, where the roof of the building caught fire, as reported by the London Fire Brigade. Multiple fire crews from nearby stations were dispatched to the scene.
Initially reported at 3:47 pm, the fire prompted a swift response from emergency services. By 5:11 pm, the situation was under control, with firefighters managing to contain the flames. Responding units included teams from Surbiton, Sutton, New Malden, and other neighboring fire stations.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently being investigated by the London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.
The residential street where the fire occurred, Knollmead in Tolworth, part of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, witnessed the intense firefighting efforts. Notably, Knollmead is home to Knollmead Primary School, a prominent landmark in the area.
Firefighters on the scene reported that the house’s roof was engulfed in flames at the time of their arrival. A 32-meter ladder was utilized as part of the firefighting operation.
