Two individuals, a man and a woman, have made a court appearance after facing murder charges in connection with the demise of a man in the Cotswolds. Adina Mihai, aged 30, and Madalin Dumitru, aged 29, have been accused of the murder of 83-year-old Malcolm King following an incident at a location in Bagendon near Cirencester on August 21, 2024. The allegations stem from a collaborative investigation by Gloucestershire Police and Thames Valley Police. Additionally, the pair, previously residing at Sandway Gardens in Birmingham, are facing charges of manslaughter, administering poison causing grievous bodily harm, administering poison, and conspiracy to steal related to the same incident.
During their appearance at Oxford Crown Court on April 24, Mihai and Dumitru pleaded not guilty to a total of 19 charges. Prior to this, they were charged by Thames Valley Police in connection with the death of 37-year-old Gary Mouat at an address in Hazeldene Gardens, Banbury, on July 13 of the previous year. The charges in relation to that incident include murder, manslaughter, administering poison causing grievous bodily harm, administering poison, and conspiracy to steal.
Furthermore, Mihai and Dumitru are accused of poisoning and conspiring to steal from three men on separate occasions between July 13 and 31 of the prior year. The charges against them related to these three individuals consist of administering poison causing grievous bodily harm, administering poison, and conspiracy to steal.
Both defendants have been detained in custody and are scheduled to appear at Oxford Crown Court on June 3 to address all charges.
