RCMP in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, have arrested a man on three firearm-related charges following reports of gunshots in the area over the weekend. According to a press statement released on Thursday, RCMP officers were called to the scene on August 9 at approximately 8:30 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire and observing a man with a firearm near a residence on 68th Street. The suspect was taken into custody by officers later that morning and has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, illegal storage of a loaded firearm, and improper use of a firearm. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 17.
