A man has faced charges following an incident where an elderly person was reportedly attacked using scissors. Kent Police responded to a call at 2.07 pm on Saturday regarding a woman being assaulted with scissors outside a residence in The Chase, Chatham. Emergency medical personnel attended to the woman, in her 80s, for injuries consistent with stab wounds. She was subsequently transported to a London hospital for further treatment. Fortunately, her injuries are not considered life-changing or life-threatening.
Aside from the assault on the woman, authorities also received reports of a man being attacked by the same individual. The suspect was located and apprehended by officers at 2.31 pm on the same day.
Orlando Foster, aged 25, has been accused of intentional wounding, causing bodily harm, and wielding a bladed weapon in public. Kent Police clarified that Foster had no prior connection to the victims involved.
Foster, residing on Jeffery Street, Gillingham, was held in custody pending his initial court appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday. Kent Police announced increased patrols in the vicinity and noted that the incidents are likely isolated as investigations continue.
