A man, Thomas Morgan, 29, was sentenced to life in prison for causing the death of five-month-old baby Jensen-Lee Dougal. The tragic incident occurred when Morgan, who was caring for the baby at the time, shook him in a fit of rage during an argument with his ex-partner. Baby Jensen-Lee suffered severe brain injuries, fractures, and bleeding in his eyes as a result of the attack.
During the court proceedings, Jensen-Lee’s mother, Jordan Dougal, expressed her profound grief and emotional pain over the loss of her son. She revealed that her anguish was compounded when Morgan callously held a gender reveal party with his new partner on the anniversary of Jensen-Lee’s death. Jordan lamented the lack of remorse shown by Morgan, emphasizing the irreparable damage caused by his actions.
Jordan recounted the heartbreaking moments leading up to Jensen-Lee’s passing, highlighting the trust she had placed in Morgan as a stepfather. She described the last time she saw her son before leaving for work, unaware that it would be their final goodbye.
The court heard that Morgan’s violent outburst was triggered by a dispute with his ex-partner, leading him to shake Jensen-Lee with such force that it resulted in fatal injuries. Medical experts compared the severity of the infant’s injuries to those caused by a high-speed car crash, labeling it as one of the worst cases they had encountered.
Despite Jordan’s pleas for Morgan to seek medical help for Jensen-Lee, he delayed calling an ambulance, ultimately leading to the tragic outcome. Jordan was forced to make the heart-wrenching decision to remove her son from life support in March 2024.
Following Jensen-Lee’s death, Jordan and Morgan parted ways, with Morgan later facing charges related to the incident. After a trial, Morgan was convicted of murder and causing grievous bodily harm, receiving a life sentence with a minimum term of 19 years.
