Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has accused ex-President Donald Trump of suggesting she would deserve it if her son faced harm after she received death threats for advocating the release of the Epstein files.
Greene revealed the alleged conversation with Trump, where he purportedly pressured her to withdraw her support for disclosing the files, claiming it was a Democratic hoax that could harm his acquaintances. She further disclosed receiving threats against her youngest son, escalating the situation.
Despite forwarding the threats to high-ranking officials in the Trump administration, Greene claimed to have received minimal responses, highlighting the lack of support she felt from certain individuals. She also alleged that Trump blamed her for the threats, stating she deserved any potential harm that may come to her family.
The allegations mark a significant rift between Greene and Trump, who previously had a close political relationship, with Greene now questioning the commitment and integrity of the political movements she once fervently supported. The former congresswoman’s decision to resign earlier this year followed public denunciations from Trump, with whom she clashed over transparency regarding the Epstein files.
In response to Greene’s claims, a White House spokesperson dismissed her assertions as attempts to remain relevant by criticizing Trump, attributing her statements to what was termed as “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The White House did not directly address the specifics of Greene’s accusations.
