Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence in Texas for sex trafficking, was revealed to have exchanged emails with an individual believed to be Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. In the email correspondence, Maxwell addressed the mystery contact as “sweet pea” and expressed her condolences for the passing of the Queen mother.

The email, sent on March 31, 2002, referred to the recipient as “The Invisible Man.” Maxwell expressed her regret that the recipient had to rush home under somber circumstances, acknowledging the sadness of the Queen mother’s death despite her advanced age. She fondly recalled their meeting and conversation, expressing a desire to reschedule their plans and signing off with “Love you. Gx.”

A response from “The Invisible Man” the following day mentioned missing Maxwell’s call and promised to reach out later to chat. These emails were part of over three million documents released by the US Department of Justice related to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender.

In a separate batch of files released earlier, Maxwell was pictured with Prince Andrew and Epstein during a hunting excursion at Balmoral. Another photo depicted Prince Andrew surrounded by five women while Maxwell stood behind them.

Despite being captured in these photos, Prince Andrew has vehemently denied any wrongdoing linked to Epstein. In a more recent email exchange, “The Invisible Man” inquired about the recipient’s potential expansion of their family and jokingly referred to them as “super sperm.”

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges, with his death ruled a suicide. Prince Andrew has faced allegations of sexual assault, which he denies, in connection to Epstein’s activities. He settled a civil sexual assault claim with Virginia Giuffre, a woman he claims never to have met, in 2022.

Following the scandal, Prince Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019, and in November 2025, the King officially revoked his HRH style and prince title.
