Maya Jama has shared her beauty regimen as she prepares to return to Majorca for the upcoming thirteenth season of Love Island. The twelve contestants, evenly split between males and females, are set to enter the famous Spanish villa when the ITV2 dating show kicks off on June 1.
Viewers can expect eliminations, drama, and captivating appearances from host Maya, known for delivering unforgettable moments. The Bristol-native began hosting Love Island in January 2023, taking over from Laura Whitmore for the ninth series.
In addition to her Love Island hosting duties, Maya has fronted various spin-off shows like Love Island Games in Fiji and Love Island: All Stars in South Africa. When discussing her preparation routine for the show, Maya emphasized the importance of skincare in hot filming conditions, stating, “Hydration is crucial as skin doesn’t lie on camera; it’s about good prep rather than heavy makeup in that climate.”
With over three years of presenting experience on the show, Maya expressed her fascination with the production team’s work behind the scenes, particularly the precision involved in shaping the narrative in real-time. The male contestants this season include Ope, Aidan, Samuel, Sean, Samraj, and Lorenzo, while the female contestants are Jasmine, Lola, Angelista, Ellie, Robyn, and Mica.
Offering advice to the new contestants, Maya encouraged them to remain open, curious, and authentic, as it often leads to more engaging experiences than trying to be perfect. Love Island is set to make its return to ITV2 and ITVX on June 1 at 9 pm.
