A traveler aboard a Ryanair aircraft narrowly escaped being pulled out of the plane during a frightening incident likened to an explosion mid-flight. Ljubisa Karović, a 61-year-old entrepreneur from Serbia, was awoken by the shattering noise of a window breaking while he was on flight FR1879 from Greece to Germany. Objects were thrown about the cabin, and fellow passengers struggled to keep him inside the plane.

Karović sustained burns and bruises on his right arm, extending from his armpit to his chest. Despite wearing a neck brace and experiencing head pain, he recounted the terrifying ordeal, emphasizing the deafening explosion that haunts his memory.

He was partially sucked out of the window before being rescued back into the aircraft, having lost consciousness multiple times during the traumatic event. Karović expressed gratitude for surviving the harrowing experience, attributing his survival to divine intervention and possibly the seatbelt that kept him secured.

After the plane landed, Karović was rushed to a hospital and is now recovering, albeit in pain. His lawyer described the incident as miraculous, detailing how Karović was propelled out of the window from his chest up, only to regain consciousness and narrowly avoid a fatal outcome.

Karović’s wife, Svetlana Grković, who was seated nearby, recalled the chaos and passengers’ efforts to secure her husband as the cabin lost pressure. Ryanair commended its cabin crew for their swift handling of the situation.

Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, indicated that a preliminary investigation pointed to potential foreign object damage to the engine during takeoff in Thessaloniki. He assured that the aircraft, a 18-year-old Boeing 737 operated by Ryanair’s Malta Air, had been meticulously maintained and serviced.
