The body of a model who went missing after a fashion show has been discovered in a reservoir.
Emergency services initiated a search for Jessica Jarikre, also known as Jessica J, after she disappeared upon returning to her residence in Wrocław, Poland, on Monday.
The 24-year-old model and singer was last spotted around 9pm that day when she returned to her apartment. Concern arose when her family couldn’t reach her.
An investigation by the police revealed that she had departed without her phone or any identification. Descriptions mentioned Jessica’s height at approximately 5ft 7in with distinctive tattoos on her left forearm and abdomen.
Aside from modeling pictures, Jessica’s social media accounts showcased her singing performances.
Following her participation in Wrocław Fashion Week, where she walked the runway a few days prior, the event shared a missing person appeal on social media.
The post urged anyone with information to contact the authorities, stating, “Dear friends! Jessica, known from our catwalks, has disappeared. If anyone has information, report it to the police.”
In a sad update post on Facebook after her body was found, it expressed, “There are emotions that are indescribably difficult. We sadly confirm the news of Jessica’s passing – a long-standing model of Wrocław Fashion Week.
“For years, she has been a part of our story, bringing professionalism, talent, warmth, a smile, and unique energy to the runway that we will forever cherish.
“Today, our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Farewell, Jessica. Thank you for being part of our community. You will always be remembered.”
Her body was retrieved from a reservoir near her residence. The Water Rescue Service (WRS) reported, “Before 2am, a female body was recovered from the reservoir bed.”
Wrocław Police announced, “We regret to inform the public of the tragic conclusion in the search for the 24-year-old woman. This is the extent of information we are releasing at this time.”
Authorities have opened an inquiry into the circumstances of her death, though they have initially ruled out the involvement of any third party.
