An investigation into a homicide is currently ongoing following the discovery of a deceased man in a caravan located in Loughborough.
Authorities from Leicestershire Police received a notification around 11.40pm on Monday regarding an unexpected death within a caravan situated on Derby Road. Emergency responders from the East Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and confirmed the passing of the individual, aged in his 40s.
Law enforcement disclosed that the deceased individual had reportedly been engaged in a dispute in the days leading up to his demise. A 56-year-old suspect has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder, as stated by the police on Wednesday.
Investigations are actively being pursued as officers strive to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of the man. According to Leicestershire Live, law enforcement officials are conducting forensic examinations in the vicinity.
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, representing the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, stated: “A dedicated team of officers is diligently working to unravel the circumstances of the altercation and events that led to the tragic death of the individual.
“Ongoing enquiries and forensic analyses will be conducted by officers in the Derby Road area over the upcoming days. A cordon will be maintained during the duration of these investigations.”
