“Mysterious Billionaire’s Neglected Mansions Spark Concern”

In the affluent area of Bishops Avenue in Hampstead, London, known as ‘billionaires row,’ Iranian figure Mojtaba Khamenei, aged 56, reportedly owns around 11 deteriorated properties. Mojtaba inherited these assets following the death of his father, Ali Hosseini Khamenei, who perished in a bombing incident in Tehran orchestrated by the U.S. and Israel earlier this year.

As the second eldest son of the late Ayatollah, Mojtaba Khamenei has maintained a low profile amid fears of potential assassination attempts. Speculations suggest he might be facing health issues, especially after missing his own succession ceremony. Records indicate that a firm facilitated the acquisition of these mansions for the Iranian regime back in 2013, estimated to have appreciated in value from £73 million to approximately £100 million.

While exploring the neighborhood, locals revealed that some of the properties along Bishops Avenue are valued at over £40 million each. Mojtaba Khamenei supposedly obtained these residences through businessman Ali Aliakbar Ansari. Ansari, who faces UK sanctions for allegedly supporting hostile activities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), purchased the mansions through Birch Ventures Limited, based in the Isle of Man.

Despite the prestigious reputation of Bishops Avenue, many properties are undergoing renovations or being repurposed into care facilities. Witnesses noted the neglect and lack of activity at the properties allegedly owned by Khamenei. Concerns have been raised about the future of these vacant mansions, with calls for stricter sanctions on Iranian-affiliated entities in the UK to prevent financial gains from potential sales.

London politician Joe Powell has urged the government to impose additional sanctions on Iranian-associated networks in the country. The presence of these empty mansions contributes to the growing number of abandoned properties in the UK, emphasizing the need for tighter regulations on foreign property ownership to combat illicit financial practices.
