A woman from Scotland, known as Elisabeth Jane Ross or Lisa, was found deceased in a suitcase left at an abandoned site in Greece. She has been described as a compassionate individual. The discovery was made by a homeless person in the Kypseli neighborhood of Athens on July 18.

Authorities revealed that messages were sent from Lisa’s phone after her passing until media exposure led to her identification. Her father in Edinburgh reportedly received these messages for almost ten days following the discovery of her body. Greek police stated that there were no evident signs of injury or struggle on her body, estimating that she had been deceased for about eight days.

Investigators are now looking into the circumstances surrounding Ms. Ross’s death to determine if foul play was involved. Toxicology tests are being undertaken for further clarity. Greek police mentioned that neither the body nor the suitcase provided any clues to identify a potential third party involved in the incident.

Friends and relatives have expressed their grief on social media, remembering Lisa as a person with a kind heart. Messages of condolences and fond memories have poured in, highlighting her selfless and caring nature.

Initially unidentifiable, Lisa was described as approximately 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, with reddish hair tied in a bun. She was attired in a T-shirt and black shorts featuring a French university emblem upon discovery.

Local reports indicate that Lisa had traveled to Greece from Edinburgh, stayed with friends in Keratsini, then met American acquaintances in Kypseli. Messages sent to her family on July 15 suggested she needed time alone. A subsequent message to a Greek friend posthumously mentioned a trip to a Greek island, with her phone remaining active in Athens until her formal identification.

Authorities are treating the site where Lisa was found as a potential crime scene. An autopsy is scheduled, and international assistance from Interpol and US investigators has been requested to aid in the investigation.

Police Scotland is collaborating with Greek authorities in the inquiry and extending support to Lisa’s family in Scotland. As the investigation unfolds, no suspects have been named.
