NATO defense systems successfully intercepted a ballistic missile targeted at Turkey. The missile, originating from Iran, transited through Iraq and Syria before being neutralized as it approached Turkish airspace.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan engaged in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, emphasizing the need to avoid actions that could escalate tensions and broaden the conflict. The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed that the missile threat was promptly addressed by NATO air and missile defense assets in the eastern Mediterranean.

Turkey has asserted its right to retaliate against any hostile acts and highlighted the importance of preventing further escalation. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported from the incident, and all parties have been urged to exercise restraint.
