The National Hockey League has officially announced the tragic passing of journalist Jessi Pierce and her three children in a residential fire in Minnesota over the weekend. Condolences and tributes have been pouring in for Jessi Pierce, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery.
In a statement released on Sunday, the NHL expressed their deep sorrow: “The entire National Hockey League community extends our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies to the Pierce family following the loss of Jessi Pierce and her three young children.
“Jessi was a dedicated member of the NHL.com team for ten years and had a great passion for our sport. Her presence will be sorely missed.”
The local Fire department confirmed responding to an emergency call in White Bear Lake just before 5:30 am on Saturday, where witnesses reported flames engulfing the house. Tragically, it is believed that individuals were inside the residence at the time of the fire.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the bodies of an adult and three children. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
The Minnesota Wild also expressed their grief in a statement: “The Minnesota Wild organization is devastated by the tragic loss of Jessi Pierce and her children.
“Jessi was a compassionate individual who deeply cared for her family and community. She was a dedicated advocate for hockey during her coverage of the Wild and NHL. Jessi and her children will be dearly missed.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to their loved ones, friends, and all who knew and cherished them.”
Kristen Krull, co-host of the Bardown Beauties podcast, paid tribute to Jessi, saying, “Family is not always blood, but the people you choose, and that was especially true with Jessi. She was like a big sister to me, exuding confidence and an ability to connect with anyone.
“She had an unparalleled work ethic and a generous heart.
“Whenever I needed support, a listening ear, or someone to talk to, she was there without hesitation. Above all, she was a devoted mother who loved her family and children immensely.”
