Nicki Chapman, a well-known figure on British television for over two decades, has had a varied and eventful career. Initially gaining fame as a judge on shows like Pop Idol and Popstars, she has transitioned into hosting popular programs such as Holiday, BBC Breakfast News, and Escape to the Country.

Hailing from Kent, the 59-year-old presenter has become synonymous with helping house hunters find their dream rural homes on Escape to the Country. However, in 2019, Nicki faced a significant challenge when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour, following a period of vision loss and speech difficulties during her recovery from knee surgery.

Speaking about her ordeal, Nicki shared her shock at the diagnosis and the emotional toll of informing loved ones. Despite undergoing a successful surgery to remove the tumour, she has experienced challenges with memory and concentration post-recovery.

Nicki, who started her career in the music industry, notably working with the Spice Girls and Kylie Minogue, later shifted focus to television presenting. She met her husband, Dave ‘Shacky’ Shackleton, during her time at RCA Records, where he was a music executive. The couple, who tied the knot in 1999, celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary recently.

Living in a beautiful home in West London, Nicki has curated a peaceful oasis for herself, including a revamped garden perfect for remote work. She values her space as a comforting retreat and cherishes artwork by Sheffield artist Pete McKee in her home.
