Ian Huntley, the notorious killer from Soham, is currently in critical condition after a violent assault in prison. The 52-year-old was found injured in his cell at HMP Frankland, a high-security men’s prison in County Durham, early in the morning and had to be airlifted to the hospital. Sources indicate that he was attacked with a metal bar while in the prison workshop, resulting in serious injuries.

Last month, Huntley faced disciplinary actions, including the confiscation of his Xbox, for breaching prison rules. The convicted child killer had his privileges revoked for possessing unauthorized items such as DVDs, USB sticks, and magazines. Additionally, he was moved to a section of the prison typically reserved for elderly inmates due to his behavior.

Huntley’s daughter, Samantha Bryan, sought to visit him in prison to seek answers about his crimes, but he declined the request in a letter, expressing doubts about a significant change in their circumstances. Huntley’s behavior in prison reportedly fluctuates between arrogance and despair, with fellow inmates describing him as both confrontational and withdrawn at different times.

This recent attack is not the first time Huntley has been targeted while serving his sentence at HMP Frankland. In 2010, he was slashed with a homemade weapon by another inmate, resulting in a severe neck wound that required stitches. The prison incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.

Huntley’s notorious crimes, involving the murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002, shocked the nation. He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 40 years for his heinous acts.
