“Nursery Worker Sentenced 30 Years for Heinous Crimes”

Published on

In a troubling development, a nursery worker convicted of heinous crimes expressed his preference for being around children but clarified that it was solely in a professional capacity. Nathan Bennett, aged 30, received a harsh 30-year prison sentence today for being labeled a “predatory” paedophile due to his acts of raping and sexually assaulting young children under his supervision. The horrific nature of his offenses came to light when parents and staff raised concerns, prompting a review of CCTV footage at the Partou’s Kings Street nursery in Bristol.

Shocking footage from Bennett’s police interview has been made public, revealing his disturbing statement that being around children was more comfortable for him. During the interview, Bennett denied joining as a nursery worker to access children for improper reasons but admitted that he found it easier to interact with children in a professional setting.

Originally charged in August 2025, Bennett from Corston, Somerset, has been in custody since then. He was found guilty by a jury of multiple offenses, including sexual assault, rape of a child under 13, and sexual assault of a child under 13. In a separate admission, Bennett confessed to additional offenses related to sexual acts involving children. His sentencing at Bristol Crown Court resulted in a 24-year imprisonment term with an extended six-year license period.

Judge William Hart described Bennett as an “incorrigible and dangerous paedophile” who targeted innocent children to fulfill his vile desires, prioritizing his own satisfaction over the children’s well-being. The judge expressed uncertainty about Bennett’s potential future danger, attributing his actions to distorted thinking and a malevolent mindset.

Bennett’s misconduct was captured on camera, leading to his arrest on February 26, 2025. Following his arrest, specialized child protection officers had to notify the affected families about the distressing events. Testimony in court revealed that Bennett displayed concerning behavior such as prolonged contact with children, wearing inappropriate clothing, and showing possessiveness towards specific toddlers and their parents.

In a statement released by the law firm Leigh Day representing the affected families, they expressed betrayal and disappointment in the nursery’s failure to ensure the safety and well-being of their children. Concerns raised to staff members were allegedly overlooked or not appropriately addressed, leading to the catastrophic breach of trust by Bennett.
