Oti Mabuse Criticizes AJ Pritchard’s Behavior on Strictly Come Dancing, Suggests Better Fit for New Role

Renowned dancer Oti Mabuse has expressed her views on AJ Pritchard’s conduct during his time on Strictly Come Dancing, acknowledging that his transition to the American show Dancing With The Stars might be more suitable for him. AJ, who is the sibling of Love Island celebrity Curtis Pritchard, was associated with Strictly between 2016 and 2019.

Reports suggest that the 31-year-old AJ may have caused tensions with his behavior during his stint on the British show, according to Oti, who is 35 years old. He currently appears on Dancing With The Stars: The Next Pro, and Oti opines that this new role could be a better match for his style.

Previously, AJ had raised the issue of the lack of British dancers on the BBC program, a statement that did not sit well with Oti, who hails from South Africa.

Referring to AJ’s potential move to DWTS, Oti responded to a fan online, highlighting AJ’s controversial nature. She mentioned that AJ’s public comments advocating for more British dancers on the UK show contradicted the diverse global nature of Strictly.

In a previous statement to The Sun, AJ expressed his desire to see more British talent on the show, emphasizing his pride in being British and the abundance of exceptional dancers in the country. However, Oti pointed out the contributions of non-British dancers like Giovanni Pernice and Aljaz Škorjanec, emphasizing the value they bring to the show.

Oti emphasized the international appeal of Strictly Come Dancing, stating that the show’s diversity is what makes it special. She suggested that AJ’s personality might be more appreciated on the American show.

AJ, who hails from Stoke-on-Trent, is vying for a spot on Dancing With The Stars and is currently competing in The Next Pro competition to secure his place on the show. The competition, hosted by current DWTS winner Robert Irwin, features a lineup of talented dancers undergoing rigorous challenges. The judging panel includes Shirley Ballas, Mark Ballas, and Derek Hough.

During the competition, Derek critiqued the contestants, advising AJ to bring more energy and synchronize with the music, while Mark acknowledged the pressure on AJ due to his prior experience on Strictly and the high caliber of dancers on the show.
