The parents of a young girl who went missing in the sea off Morocco have provided a heartbreaking update. Inaayah Makda, a 7-year-old from Blackburn, Lancashire, was swept into the sea from coastal rocks on January 29. Her parents, Zubair and Tasneem Makda, were also affected by the incident. Despite extensive search efforts by volunteers, divers, and organizations, Inaayah has not been found.

Nearly a month later, the parents released a statement on February 22, describing their ongoing efforts to locate Inaayah. They acknowledged the possibility of having to end the physical search and rely on faith. The statement expressed gratitude for the support received from various sources, including donations for search teams and family expenses.

Over £61,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe page to aid in the search. The family has faced challenges due to stormy weather conditions during the search operation. Both UK and Moroccan authorities are involved in the search efforts.

A spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office confirmed their support for the family and their coordination with local authorities in Morocco.

The family’s unwavering faith and determination in finding Inaayah continue, with a commitment to using any remaining funds for charitable purposes in her honor. They urge continued prayers and support from the community during this difficult time.
