Two funeral homes in Lancashire were the target of police raids resulting in the arrest of two individuals on suspicion of fraud. The raids were conducted at two Martin’s Funeral Directors locations in Ashton-on-Ribble and Longridge. Additionally, a private address in Fulwood was searched by the authorities. There was a significant police presence at the scene in Ashton-on-Ribble, with forensic officers and a canine unit on site.

The Lancashire Police initiated the raids following reports received earlier this month regarding questionable practices at Martin’s Funeral Directors. A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, both residents of Preston, were taken into custody for interrogation.

A spokesperson for the police stated that while the investigation is in its early stages, they refrain from providing further comments to avoid speculation.
