Police in north London have unveiled new footage of the moment a suspected attacker in Golders Green was subdued and apprehended using a Taser. The Metropolitan Police in London shared the video depicting officers confronting the individual believed to be responsible for a terrorist assault that left two men, identified as Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76, with severe stab wounds. According to the police, the suspect was uncooperative, violent, and posed a significant threat.

Authorities stated that the officers, without firearms but with only their training, bravery, and Tasers, managed to detain the unidentified 45-year-old man, who persistently attempted to harm them. The suspect, a British national born in Somalia, was under investigation following reports of a prior altercation in southeast London.

The incident unfolded when the police responded to a distress call at an address in Great Dover Street, SE1, where the suspect, armed with a knife, had a confrontation before fleeing the scene. Despite an extensive search, the suspect could not be located immediately. The victims, Rand and Shine, are currently hospitalized in stable condition, receiving treatment for their injuries.

In a statement, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis identified the victims and requested prayers for their swift recovery. Rand, one of the victims, expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal, emphasizing the severity of the attack. The sister of Rand condemned the incident, highlighting the prevalence of antisemitism and its impact on the Jewish community.

The situation escalated as Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley arrived at the scene in Golders Green, facing criticism and calls for resignation. The suspect was eventually apprehended after a confrontation with Jewish community patrol members, including Yonathan Elkouby, who intervened to prevent further harm.

The incident, now declared a terrorist act, prompted a collaborative effort between counterterrorism units and local authorities to investigate and ensure public safety.
