“Prime Video Exposes Rolf Harris’ Shocking Crimes”

Published on

Rolf Harris, once revered as a national icon, faced a dramatic fall from grace when his appalling offenses were exposed.

The latest true crime documentary on Prime Video, titled “Rolf Harris: Primetime Predator,” delves into the despicable actions of the Australian entertainer.

This distressing two-part series sheds light on how, after evading detection for years, Harris faced justice for his crimes, leaving a lasting impact on his victims.

In 2013, Harris, who was married to sculptor Alwen Hughes, faced 12 charges of indecent assault against young girls, vehemently denying the allegations.

Following his conviction for offenses spanning from 1968 to 1986, Harris received a sentence of five years and nine months in prison in 2014, with the presiding judge criticizing his lack of remorse.

After serving nearly three years at Stafford Prison, Harris was released on license in 2017. Despite facing additional charges of indecent assault, he was acquitted and did not return to prison. Since his release, he resided in Bray, Berkshire, with his wife.

Entering prison at 84 and being released in his late 80s, Harris passed away in May 2023 due to neck cancer and age-related frailty at his home in Bray. His family issued a statement requesting privacy, confirming his peaceful passing and burial.

Tragically, his wife Alwen, a respected sculptor, passed away in the summer of 2024 at 92, just over a year after her husband, succumbing to a stroke.

Arriving in London at 21 in 1952, Harris went on to host various TV shows, including children’s programs and Animal Hospital. He also gained recognition for painting a portrait of the Queen in 2006 to commemorate her 80th birthday.
