Prince Harry’s Risky UK Return to Support Meghan’s Brand

Published on

Prince Harry reportedly expressed feeling abandoned when he made a risky decision to return to the UK with Meghan Markle for an event aimed at enhancing her brand. The couple, who had relocated to California two years ago, visited the UK in September 2022 for Meghan’s participation in the One Young World charity conference. Prior to the trip, royal author Tom Bower stated that Harry raised concerns about security issues, specifically the lack of armed protection in Manchester and London. Despite this, Harry chose to accompany Meghan on the trip, allegedly to support her brand.

As detailed in Bower’s upcoming book, “Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family,” Harry’s decision was influenced by Meghan’s belief that her appearance was crucial for sustaining her brand. Bower mentioned that a dedicated rail carriage was reserved for their journey from London to Manchester, although the public was not allowed access to it. According to Bower, Harry expressed worries about the risks posed by his proximity to the public during the event.

Upon his return to the UK in September 2025, Harry intended to portray himself as a benevolent royal figure serving the people. To support this image, he donated £1.1 million to Children in Need and publicized his contribution, a departure from typical royal behavior. However, Harry reportedly lamented the lack of police protection and sought reconsideration from the Home Secretary.

In response to earlier excerpts from Bower’s book, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a critical statement, denouncing Bower’s fixation and accusing him of constructing unfounded theories. The Mirror reached out to Harry and Meghan’s representatives for comment, and Bower’s book is set to be released on March 26.
