Prince William is reportedly taking on a more influential role within the royal family. It is suggested that the Prince of Wales is becoming more involved in decision-making processes, particularly regarding his uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was recently ousted from the Royal Lodge.
Despite Andrew’s denial of any misconduct, his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were recently barred from attending Royal Ascot. This move, which caught the sisters off guard, is believed to have been influenced by William, 43, signaling a shift in power dynamics within the family.
Royal expert Andrew Lownie noted that William is assuming a more prominent position in decision-making. There appears to be a deliberate distancing from other family members, including the Sussexes and the Waleses. The expert suggested that William is striving for a change in public perception of the monarchy.
The exclusion of Beatrice and Eugenie from Royal Ascot seems to have impacted Beatrice more significantly. The sisters have maintained a low profile following their father’s arrest on the Sandringham Estate. Lownie remarked on the public nature of the distancing, questioning the sisters’ handling of the situation.
Although Beatrice and Eugenie still hold princess and HRH titles and have the privilege of residing in royal palaces, royal expert Jennie Bond proposed that they consider relinquishing their titles in their personal and professional lives. Bond emphasized the advantages their titles bring but suggested that the sisters may benefit from distancing themselves following recent family controversies.
Last October, reports indicated that William was taking charge to shield King Charles from criticism regarding his response to his troubled brother. Andrew has consistently refuted any allegations of misconduct.
