These proposed changes include ending support for thousands of asylum seekers and extending the ILR qualification period from five to 10 years, a move that has sparked widespread concern.

In a pointed critique aimed at the government’s immigration policies, Rayner underscored the impact on individuals who have made life plans based on existing rules, stating that altering these regulations would jeopardize their stability and future prospects.
