Rocker Suzi Quatro, at the age of 75, recently passed her driving test and marked the occasion with Champagne and a frozen pizza. After relocating to the UK in 1971 at the age of 21, Suzi had been driving on a US license, unknowingly breaking the law.

Excitedly sharing her success with the Mirror, Suzi expressed her relief and joy at passing the test, despite receiving a few minor faults. She mentioned that her husband, Rainer Haas, was extremely proud and spread the news to friends worldwide from their home in Chelmsford, Essex.

Having sold over 55 million records and preparing for the release of her upcoming album “Freedom” on March 27, Suzi undertook the driving test in Clacton-on-Sea. She humorously recounted celebrating with a glass of Moet & Chandon and a cheese frozen pizza, highlighting the contrast in the festivities.

Suzi, who rose to fame with her band The Pleasure Seekers and was later brought to England by producer Mickie Most, shared her surprise at discovering her US license was no longer valid after residing in the UK for more than 12 months. Not realizing she was driving illegally for over five decades, she acknowledged the need for a British license due to recent US law changes.

Looking ahead to her UK tour starting in April, Suzi plans to bid farewell to the L plates on her Mercedes, which she disliked. Reflecting on her successful driving test, she expressed her elation and humor at the examiner recognizing her birth name, Susan Quatro, before passing her.

Now a British citizen, Suzi described the year as remarkable, with achievements like obtaining her driver’s license, releasing a new album, and embarking on a tour.
