The upcoming Masters Champions Dinner, one of the most exclusive gatherings in the world of golf, is fast approaching. Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, has recently revealed his menu for the prestigious event, featuring his mother’s signature dish, Rosie’s dates stuffed with goat’s cheese, as part of the appetizers.
McIlroy clinched the Green Jacket nearly a year ago after a thrilling final round at Augusta National, securing the career Grand Slam. As part of his victory privileges, McIlroy will host the iconic champions dinner next month, where Scottie Scheffler will adhere to his own set of rules.
During the menu unveiling event on Wednesday, McIlroy presented the options for the main course, offering a choice between Wagyu Filet Mignon and seared salmon. The Masters Club Dinner, held on Tuesday of tournament week, is a highly exclusive affair limited to past Green Jacket winners.
Traditionally, the defending champion selects the menu for the dinner. In 2025, Scottie Scheffler curated a menu that featured cheeseburger sliders, firecracker shrimp, and “Papa Scheff’s meatball and ravioli bites,” with a nod to a previous mishap during a Christmas Day cooking incident that led to surgery.
Previous champions have also showcased their culinary tastes at the dinner. Hideki Matsuyama’s Japanese-themed feast in 2022, including sushi, sashimi, and Miyazaki wagyu beef ribeye, received high praise. Sir Nick Faldo, a three-time Green Jacket winner, once opted for a simple fish and chips meal, sourced from Grimsby, England, after his 1996 victory.
Despite some unconventional menu choices in the past, the Champions Dinner remains a cherished event for participants. It offers a mix of nostalgia, camaraderie, and light-hearted banter among the attendees, creating a truly special and memorable evening for all involved.
